Social
Hi, welcome to the Heritage Club's social page. As a member of the social committee of the club I would like to tell you a bit about the part that we play in the social side of the things that happen at Heritage. We, as a social committee, try to encourage all members to come along to the many varied social functions that are organised and run each year. The main purpose of which is to meet up with fellow members and friends and have a bit of a natter and a laugh together. This is especially important in the dreary winter months when sunbathing and relaxing by and in the pool are far from our minds.
Over the year we organise six or seven functions culminating in the fun Christmas parties, one in the afternoon for the HeriKids with games and a buffet and a special visit from Santa, and one in the evening after Santa has flown back to Lapland. The adults party means we can swap cards and have a natter whilst drinking a few glasses of mulled wine and maybe show off a few moves on the dance floor. In October we invite the members to dress up in their scariest costumes and makeup and come along to Heritage's Halloween bash when the club is transformed into a spooky haunted mansion.
Throughout the year various themed nights and discos are held and in the past these have included a 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's nights, a glow disco, barn dances and a celebration of Burns Night. At some of these events members are invited to dress up in fancy dress (even naturists can dress up sometimes) and the standard is usually very high. At each of these functions the clubhouse is decorated to suit the event and in most cases food: whether a buffet or a BBQ is provided. At most events we usually throw in a raffle or a tombola and on occasions dust off the skittle alley for a bit of extra fun and intense competition.
This is another fantastic year for the social as we plan to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, an 80's disco in June and a whole range of meal evening such as curry and italian nights. In August we hold a garden fete with games, cream teas, a tombola and more for the HeriKids and adults to enjoy. This is followed by Heritage's fantastic family fun week, themed this year on Jurrassica 2012
The social committee try to vary some of the events each year and we encourage all members of all ages to come along to the functions and to meet up with old friends and to make new ones. We especially would like to invite new members to attend, as these functions are a great way of meeting your fellow members and introducing yourself to everyone. Before long you will feel like one of the Heritage family! On becoming a member look out for the posters announcing the date of the next function and come along and see that being a naturist is not all about lying in the sun and dipping your toes in the pool, it is also a great way to meet new people and to make new friends who share your lifestyle choice.
So see you at the next function!
Heritage social committee.
